Here’s how to use the APA Document Formatter from start to finish.
First, upload your paper. Drag and drop a PDF or Word document into the upload area, or click to browse. The app supports PDF and DOCX files up to 20 megabytes. Your text is converted and shown in an APA-formatted preview—nothing is sent to a server; everything runs in your browser.
Second, add your APA title page if you want it. Fill in the title, your name, institution, course, instructor, and date. Those appear on the first page in standard APA style.
Third, add your sources. You can type in each source by hand—book, journal article, or website—using the form. Or paste citations in NLM, MLA, or Chicago format, choose that format in the dropdown, and click “Import and convert to APA.” The app converts them and adds them to your References list, which is sorted alphabetically and formatted in APA 7th edition.
Fourth, check your writing. Use “Grade writing” for feedback on length and structure. Turn on “Spell check” to enable the browser’s spell checker on your paper.
Finally, save or print. Click “Print / Save as PDF” to open the print dialog. Your formatted paper and References page are included. Use “Upload another file” to start over.
